Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Prescott, AZ for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA). The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and prescribing medications. The provider will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Additional responsibilities include educating patients and their families about treatment options and managing follow-up care.
Job Profile Summary
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnoses. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
- Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
- Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
- Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
- May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
- May promote/provide staff education.
- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls.
- May mentor new advanced practice providers.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
AOCNP preferred. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. - OR Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Clinical Nurse Specialist Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of practicing Clinical Nurse Specialist, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
AOCNS preferred (if applicable). Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
