Job Description

As an Assistant Transportation Engineer, during the summer construction season, you will engage in various moderately complex engineering functions to support the construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure, systems, facilities, and other related aspects of transportation engineering.

In the off-season during winter, this engineering position will lead the design and estimation efforts for large culvert crossing projects, small, closed drainage systems, slope stabilization projects, and provide assistance with highway lidar design requirements.

The selected candidate will be introduced to project management principles and technical engineering responsibilities. This individual may also mentor other technical staff and serve as a construction resident on designated projects. The work will be conducted with limited supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field –OR– non-engineering college graduates and non-degreed candidates must possess a Certification of Engineer-Intern as issued by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
