A non‑profit critical access hospital, we house 20 beds in our acute care facility and 35 beds in our nursing facility. With three operating rooms, a procedure room, and advanced technology, we provide excellent care for our surgical patients.
Our recently constructed 24,000 square foot medical office provides valuable access, accommodations, and services to the community. FCMC was recognized as one of the "Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals" in the nation for four consecutive years from 2017‑2020. - Performing diagnostic radiographs as ordered
- Assisting Radiologists with complicated radiographic examinations, including biopsies and arthrograms
- Producing high quality films for Radiologists to evaluate; maintaining a high degree of accuracy in radiology positioning and exposure technique
- Performing quality control functions related to radiology
- Assisting in compiling and maintaining statistical data
- Ensuring patient comfort and privacy and educating the patient regarding the exam
- Serving as the primary liaison between patients and Radiologists or other members of the support team
- Completing documentation
- Applying professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking
- Participating in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills
- Completion of a two‑year Radiology program from an accredited institution
- Valid state radiology registration as required by state law certification
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer literacy
- Detail‑oriented and able to work as a team member
- Willing to participate in 24 Continuing Education Units every two years
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Regularly required to move or lift between 50‑100 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Regularly required to stand for long periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling, and reaching to prepare equipment, materials, or objects
- Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination is required
- Must be able to work in a high‑stress environment
- Must comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facility
- FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
- Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
- Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
