Position: Business Support Administrator (AWDO-P14985 )

Business Support Administrator

Business Support Administrator who has excellent communication, organisation and administration skills, with the confidence to engage with businesses, stakeholders and project participants by phone, email, video call and face-to-face, is required for a part-time role supporting a skills improvement project in Preston.

SALARY: £25,000 per annum pro rata + Benefits

LOCATION:

Preston, Lancashire, North West England with occasional travel within the local area. Candidates must have a full driving licence and their own vehicle

15 Hours per Week, 9am – 5pm, Monday & Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

The organisation is part of a Skills England project putting employers at the heart of skills provision across the county.

This is a fantastic new job opportunity for a Business Support Administrator who enjoys working with people, supporting varied project activity and helping to build positive relationships with employers, training providers and local stakeholders.

Working as the Business Support Administrator, you will support the development and delivery of a Local Skills Improvement Plan, helping to move the project into its next delivery phase and support recommendations that benefit employers across a wide range of sectors.

Reporting to the Project Lead, you will help build and maintain relationships, coordinate activity, arrange meetings and provide secretarial and administrative support. The role will involve regular telephone, email, video call and face-to-face communication, so confidence, professionalism and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Business Support Administrator include:

  • Following Leads:
    Involve relevant people and support engagement with participants, businesses and stakeholders
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Keep participants and stakeholders informed about project activity, meetings and collaborative work
  • Meeting Coordination:
    Arrange meetings, working groups and collaborative sessions, including liaising with attendees and supporting smooth delivery
  • Administrative Support:
    Provide secretarial and administrative support to help the project run efficiently and professionally
  • Events Support:
    Liaise with the team on events and business engagement activity
  • Joint Activity Coordination:
    Work with stakeholders to coordinate shared activity and support project outcomes
  • Participant Engagement:
    Communicate confidently and professionally face-to-face, by telephone, via video calls and through regular email correspondence
  • Reporting Support:
    Provide input into weekly and monthly reports for management meetings and the Board
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Business Support Administrator you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Confident and polite when engaging with participants, businesses and stakeholders
  • Able to act as an ambassador for the company, clients, partners and stakeholders
  • Resilient and determined, with the ability to work to targets
  • Good command of English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings
  • Professional mindset with the ability to follow project guidelines
  • Confidence dealing with high-profile people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Polite and courteous telephone manner
  • Able to plan, organise and prioritise workload effectively
  • Able to attend meetings and events at other venues when required
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle

The successful candidate must have the Right to Work in the UK and be able to produce proof at interview stage
