Temporary Medical Secretary
Location:
Windsor Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
Start Date:
11 September 2026 Duration: 3 weeks (temporary assignment)

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and professional Temporary Medical Secretary to provide administrative and patient support within a busy private healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident managing patient interactions, clinical administration, and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities Use DGL software to manage patient records and clinic administration. Act as a first point of contact for patients, providing a professional and welcoming service. Handle patient-facing enquiries and respond to routine clinical queries, escalating where appropriate. Manage patient bookings, appointments, amendments, and cancellations. Set up and coordinate private clinics, ensuring all administrative requirements are completed. Prepare and send patient correspondence, including appointment letters and clinical communications.
Arrange and post documentation to local hospitals and healthcare providers. Create and process online invoices. Raise and issue invoices to patients in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of expenses and associated documentation. Ensure patient information is handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR and healthcare regulations. Provide general administrative support to consultants and the wider clinical team. Essential Requirements Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or within a healthcare administration role.
Experience using DGL software . Strong patient-facing communication skills. Experience managing patient appointments and clinic scheduling. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable Requirements Experience working within a private healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience processing invoices and maintaining expense records. Personal Attributes Professional and approachable manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail. Able to prioritise workload and work independently. Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt quickly to a busy environment. Pay: £15.00 per hour Contract Length: 3 weeks
