As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the Assistant Management Accountant in the day-to-day operation of the finance function. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting transactional processes, and providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesThis role will include, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Processing supplier invoices, including matching purchase orders and proof of delivery notes, checking prices, and preparing invoices for payment.
- Processing employee expense claims.
- Supporting credit control activities.
- Maintaining purchase, subcontractor, and sales ledgers, including statement reconciliations.
- Preparing bank reconciliations.
- Processing applications for payment.
- Liaising with third-party providers, clients, suppliers and the Commercial Team.
- Providing general administrative support, including handling incoming and outgoing post and signing for deliveries.
- Maintaining and updating finance procedures and documentation.
- Acting as the first point of contact for the main telephone line.
- Supporting the wider accounts department with additional duties as required.
- GCSES in Maths and English A*- C or 9 – 4.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
- Basic understanding of accounting principle and financial transactions
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience working in a finance or accounts role.
- Experience with in the construction industry.
- Studying towards an AAT qualification, or willingness to begin studying with support provided.
Training will be provided across all aspects of the role. We encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement but can demonstrate the skills and aptitude to succeed in the position.
