Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Diagnostic Neuroradiology to join its Regional Neurosciences Centre on a fixed-term basis until February 2027.
Serving a population of 1.5 million people, the service supports a major trauma centre, tertiary vascular centre and comprehensive neurological and neurosurgical services

- Support a major trauma centre and tertiary vascular centre
- Contribute to specialist Neurology and Neurosurgery MDTs

- Research opportunities through the on-site Lancashire Clinical Research Facility
- Teaching opportunities with radiology trainees and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Modern imaging facilities including 3T MRI, multiple CT scanners and dedicated neuro-interventional suites

As a Consultant in Diagnostic Neuroradiology, you will provide a comprehensive neuroradiology service across Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, supporting inpatient and outpatient MRI and CT reporting, specialist MDT meetings and the wider neurosciences network. The role offers close collaboration with Neurology, Neurosurgery and Head & Neck services within a highly regarded tertiary centre.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist diagnostic neuroradiology reporting across MRI and CT services
- Support local and network Neuroradiology MDTs and multidisciplinary case discussions
- Contribute to teaching, audit, research activity and service development initiatives
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practise
- CCT, CCST or equivalent specialist registration in Radiology
- Fellowship training in Diagnostic Neuroradiology
- Extensive experience in Diagnostic Neuroradiology within a tertiary neurosciences service
- Experience presenting within Neuroradiology MDTs
- Commitment to cooperative multidisciplinary working
- Experience of advanced neuro-imaging techniques
- Head and neck imaging experience
- Ultrasound and image-guided intervention skills
- Teaching, research or publication experience
Based primarily at Royal Preston Hospital, the Trust's Regional Neurosciences Centre provides specialist neurological and neurosurgical services across Lancashire and South Cumbria, supported by modern facilities and an extensive neurosciences network.
