Department:

The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to join our Community Division. This is a full-time clinical-track position. The candidate must be eligible for Ohio medical licensure and board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology. This position has the potential for a Medical Directorship of a community hospital laboratory, offering leadership opportunities, career advancement, involvement in community-based pathology services at OSU-affiliated and other community hospitals.

It also offers opportunities to participate in teaching and mentorship with medical students, residents, fellows, as well as access to OSU subspecialty consultation, state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities, including advanced molecular pathology, immunohistochemistry, and digital pathology.

About The Department of Pathology The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a dynamic, highly collaborative academic department committed to excellence in diagnostic medicine, research, education, and innovation. As part of one of the largest academic medical centers in the Midwest, the department provides comprehensive pathology services across a broad range of subspecialties while supporting the complex clinical needs of Ohio State’s nationally recognized medical and surgical programs.

Ohio State offers a fully subspecialized approach to surgical pathology, allowing faculty to develop and focus their clinical practice in areas aligned with their expertise and academic interests. The department includes more than 85 faculty members representing multiple pathology subspecialties and provides a high-volume, diverse clinical environment with approximately 70,000 surgical biopsy cases and nearly 25,000 surgical resection cases processed in 2025.

The department is recognized for its leadership in digital pathology and continues to expand its work in artificial intelligence, precision pathology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, personalized medicine, and translational research.
