General Teaching Assistant – Preston

Humly is recruiting a General Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a temporary basis. This is a part-time role starting 23 February 2026 and continuing until 17 July 2026. It is ideal for a teaching assistant who is confident providing general classroom support and contributing positively to daily school life.

• Support classroom teachers with day-to-day teaching activities
• Assist pupils individually or in small groups with learning tasks
• Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
• Prepare resources and support lesson delivery
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers

• Experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to support pupils with varying needs and abilities
• Enthusiasm for contributing to school life and pupil development
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

£13.70 per hour

• Working pattern:
  Thursdays and Fridays, 8:45am – 3:15pm (30-minute lunch break)

• Enhanced DBS required (Humly can support with an Enhanced DBS at a cost to the educator)
• Safeguarding & Rehabilitation of Offenders Act:
  This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants will be required to declare relevant convictions in line with the Act.
