Job Summary

Permanent - 11 hours per week, term‑time only (37 weeks per year). Salary – Support Staff Spine Point 21 (£24,654 FTE, £5,976.42 Actual).

We have exciting opportunities available for enthused Passenger Assistants to join our team here at St Vincent College.

Passenger assistants play a key role in enabling children and young people with special educational needs travel to and from school and college in a safe environment. We have our own minibuses to be able to support our young people in accessing college. The college provides specialist education and support for 200+ young people aged 16‑25 with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities with some requiring access to transport.

• No formal qualifications needed, just a natural rapport with young adults, alongside an awareness and understanding of special educational needs.
• A willingness to support students with medical needs. Training will be given.
• An understanding of working with high‑needs students and first aid training are essential.
• The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
