Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a wonderful primary school located in the PR5 area of Preston. Aboutthe Role
This role focuses heavily on providing targeted, high‑quality support to ensure no child is left behind during their crucial Key Stage 1 years. You will be working closely with the class teacher to bridge learning gaps and build pupils' confidence.
Your Day-to-Day- 1:1 Support:
Working closely with specific pupils who require extra guidance with their reading, writing, and early numeracy. - Small Group Interventions:
Leading focused intervention groups (such as Phonics and maths booster sessions) to help raise attainment. - Classroom Management:
Helping to create a vibrant, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages independent learning. - Social & Emotional Support:
Helping children build social skills, resilience, and a positive attitude toward school life.

- Proven experience working within a primary school setting, ideally within EYFS or Key Stage 1.
- A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early literacy/phonics schemes.
- A patient, nurturing, and creative approach to learning that engages young minds.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or
3) is highly desirable. You must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one) and provide satisfactory references.
