Teaching Assistant

Summary

The Coppice School is a thriving school in South Ribble between Leyland and Preston. We have 64 pupils on roll aged between 2-19 years with severe and complex learning difficulties. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy and dedicated staff team.

Salary: £25,949 pro rata, full‑time equivalent.

Hours:

29 hours a week, part‑time, term time only. Closing date: 30 June 2026.

• Relevant Child Care Qualification or Equivalent
• Maths and English Level 2 or Equivalent

• Ability to relate well to children
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to organise classroom resources
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
• Will be subject to a Disclosure Barring Service check and satisfactory references

• Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
• Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities
• Basic knowledge of first aid
• Ability to use relevant technology
• Flexible attitude to work
