This specialist SEN school in Preston is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced SEN professionals, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs while developing highly transferable skills for your future career.
The Role – SEN Teaching AssistantAs an SEN Teaching Assistant
, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech & Communication Needs, ADHD, and SEMH
.
Working across 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and classroom activities
, you will help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to deliver personalised interventions and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Up to £600 per week
- Full-time, long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role
- September start
- Ongoing specialist SEN training and CPD
- Supportive and experienced leadership team
- Excellent experience for careers in psychology, therapy, education, healthcare, or social work
- Experience supporting children or young people desirable
- Background in SEN, care, youth work, support work, coaching, or mentoring advantageous
- Psychology graduates and related degree holders welcomed
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
