Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Great Eccleston from September 2026.

This exciting opportunity will see you working within a Year 2 classroom, supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and helping pupils to achieve their full potential. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within the Year 2 classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide both whole‑class and small‑group support, helping to ensure all pupils remain engaged and make excellent progress.

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Work with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
• Provide individual support where required.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote a love of learning.
• Support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.

• Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Is confident supporting pupils across a range of abilities.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Has a positive, patient, and proactive approach.
• Is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
• Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
