Teacher Active is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Preston area on a temporary to permanent basis
, with an immediate start available
.

This role is based within a small, supportive independent specialist school that provides education for children and young people who have autism and additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs
. The school prides itself on creating a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where pupils are supported to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. Classes are intentionally small with high staff-to-student ratios
, allowing for personalised support and strong relationships between staff and pupils.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and socially
, helping them to engage with learning and regulate behaviour in a positive and consistent way.

• Supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs in both classroom and pastoral settings

• Assisting the teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities

• Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using calm and consistent strategies

• Providing personal care
  , which is an essential part of the role

• Encouraging independence, communication, and emotional regulation

• Working closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism (desirable)

• Experience managing or supporting challenging behaviour (desirable)

• A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach

• Willingness to provide personal care when required

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs

• Competitive daily rates of £95 £ 115 per day
