Summary We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant level 2 at our team to provide support within our Key Stage Two team. This role is to start ASAP and will run to August 2027. The contract is initially on a temporary contract but may be extended, if budget allows, for 27/28. This role will be predominately working, under the guidance of a teacher, with small groups of children with learning needs across KS2 to improve inclusion and improve measurable academic progress.

Part of this role will also include covering an outdoor lunchtime slot as a play team member (30 minutes per day). The hours will be 31.18 a week, during term time, running from 8.50am to 3.30pm with a 30 minute break Monday to Friday, with an 8.30am start on Tuesdays for TA meetings. We are able to offer you a dedicated, forward thinking team who put the children at the heart of all decisions.

We have a strong, knowledgeable, hardworking team of teaching assistants across school who can offer continued professional development and support for the successful applicant.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Can build positive relationships with children and adults alike
  • Has experience of working within a school setting and a range of curriculum areas
  • Has planning, organisational and IT skills
  • Has experience of supporting children who have special educational needs and making reasonable adjustments to meet their needs
  • Is able to work independently and as part of a team to provide children with a safe and caring learning environment

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and will have a flexible approach to the tasks they undertake. The position will be ideally suited to someone with previous experience of working within a busy school environment.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • NVQ level 2 or above - appropriate to the post
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
  • Experience of working within a school setting and a range of curriculum areas
  • Experience of supporting children who have special educational needs and making reasonable adjustments to meet their needs
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of administrative work
  • Experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour
