About the role

Justteachers is seeking a Secondary Teaching assistant, who is looking for a long term role in a Mainstream Secondary school in the Preston area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in September 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.

• Deliver targeted 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs and additional learning needs
• Adapt classroom resources to meet individual SEND requirements
• Lead small intervention groups focusing on literacy, numeracy and social development
• Implement behaviour support strategies in line with pupil plans
• Monitor pupil progress and provide detailed feedback to teaching staff
• Support pupils during lessons, exams, transitions and unstructured times
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence within the classroom
• Assist with record keeping and pupil progress tracking

• Previous UK secondary school experience
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis
• Confidence leading small group interventions
• Strong behaviour management skills
