We are working with a fantastic Primary school based in the Preston Area.
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Level 2b (TA2b) to support pupils in our Year 3 class. The successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary basis and will work full-time until a permanent appointment is made.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8:40am - 3:30pm
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom-based support within a Year 3 class.
- Deliver interventions to individuals and small groups of pupils.
- Support teaching and learning across the curriculum.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to meet pupils' individual needs.
- Provide a daily 30-minute 1:1 lunchtime support session for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Contribute to the positive wellbeing, progress and inclusion of all pupils.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Experience of working with primary-aged children, preferably in Key Stage 2.
- Knowledge and understanding of speech, language and communication needs.
- Knowledge and experience of supporting phonics development.
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEND, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience of delivering targeted intervention programmes.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with speech and language needs.
