Working under the guidance of the class teacher, the successful candidate will support individuals and groups of pupils with structured learning activities, helping them to make progress academically, socially and personally.
We are particularly looking for someone who:- has experience of working with children, ideally within a Key Stage 2 or primary classroom

- can support pupils with reading, writing and mathematics, reinforcing teaching and helping children develop their understanding
- can explain learning clearly, ask effective questions and provide appropriate prompts and scaffolds
- understands how to support pupils to remain engaged, develop independence and take increasing responsibility for their own learning
- builds warm, positive and professional relationships with children
- can support pupils who may need additional encouragement, reassurance or help to regulate their behaviour and engage successfully with learning
- can work effectively as part of a team while also having the confidence to use initiative appropriately within agreed classroom routines and teacher direction
- is organised, flexible and able to respond positively to the changing needs of children and the school day
- is committed to inclusion and able to support pupils with differing needs, including pupils with SEND
- has high expectations for pupils' behaviour, learning, independence and personal development
- is reliable, positive and keen to contribute to the wider life of our school.

We are passionate about giving children opportunities to be active, creative and adventurous outdoors. The successful candidate will therefore be enthusiastic about outdoor play and learning, actively engaging with pupils and helping them to enjoy positive, purposeful and inclusive playtimes.
This will include encouraging pupils to participate, supporting positive relationships, promoting independence and responsible choices, and helping to ensure that all pupils feel included, safe and able to enjoy their play.
The successful candidate will share our commitment to ensuring that every child is known, valued and supported to flourish and will actively support the Catholic ethos and mission of our school:
“United in love and the light of Jesus, we inspire one another to learn, grow and shine.”
