The Aspirations & Careers Lead runs the careers service across Maidstone Grammar School for Girls, a selective girls' school with a mixed sixth form. The job centres on personalised advice on post-16 choices, university degrees and degree apprenticeships, delivered as part of a whole-school careers education approach. The post works alongside the pastoral and sixth form teams and follows a term-time working year that includes August results days.
Visa sponsorship is not available, and the post requires an enhanced DBS check.
- Deliver a personalised careers service across the school
- Advise students on post-16 choices
- Advise students on university degrees and degree apprenticeships
- Lead careers education, information, advice and guidance as part of a whole-school approach
- Work with the Pastoral Team to support students in each year group
- Work with the Sixth Form Team to support Year 13 students into their destinations beyond school
- Work 40 weeks a year, including the August A level and GCSE results dates
- Enhanced DBS check
- Online check of shortlisted candidates under Keeping Children Safe in Education
- Pro rata annual leave, bank holidays and KCC concessionary day, included in the salary
