Alchem Partners is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a family‑owned chemical manufacturing business in the Northwest.
Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns and execute repairs promptly to minimise downtime.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Carry out scheduled work tasks and reports.
- Perform welding and fabrication duties.
- Manage stock of components and fittings, reordering as required.
- Operate the CMMS system.
- Complete PPMs.
- Liaise with supplier representatives.
- Maintain accurate service records and history reports.
- Understand and comply with lock‑out tag‑out procedures, COMAH, and related safety protocols.
- Perform any other reasonable duties relevant to the role.
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above in Engineering.
- Knowledge of FMCG machinery.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a general engineering role.
Salary: £40,138 per annum. Overtime is paid at time and a half, with an average of 25 hours available each month for those who choose to work it.
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
