Job OverviewWe are recruiting a Pension Support Officer to assist the Pension Manager and support clients with payroll and pension services, focusing on accuracy, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Main responsibilities- Administer pension data for all employees, ensuring accurate, timely records.
- Process joiners, leavers, refunds, transfers and pension-related queries according to NHS Pension Scheme rules.
- Calculate and provide accurate pension information, including complex or sensitive calculations.
- Assist with new pension scheme purchases, ensure correct deductions in ESR payroll system.
- Maintain and update Pensions Online (POL) and ESR for all relevant deductions and benefits.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues and external parties on pension queries and benefits.
- Collaborate with the Technology Team to support salary sacrifice and employee self‑service systems.
- Ensure compliance with Auto‑Enrolment, NHS Pension regulations, National Minimum Wage, and other statutory requirements.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Pension Manager or Technology Manager.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data input and proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications, including VLOOKUP.
- Experience handling confidential information in a busy administrative environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of NHS Pension rules, National Minimum Wage and Living Wage regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to service improvement.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently.
- Minimum of 2 GCSE passes at grade C including Maths and English Language, or equivalent Level 2 Functional Skills.
