About the Role

Bluestones Medical Nursing Agency is currently recruiting experienced Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to work within mental health services across Lancashire.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Mental Health Nurses looking for flexible agency work across a range of healthcare settings. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals experiencing a variety of mental health conditions and needs.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery, maintain patient safety and support individuals in achieving the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Complete comprehensive mental health assessments and contribute to individualised care planning.
  • Monitor and assess patients' mental and physical health.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a patient s presentation or level of risk.
  • Administer medication safely and monitor its effectiveness and potential side effects.
  • Support patients experiencing mental health crises and acute episodes of illness.
  • Carry out risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans.
  • Support the implementation of therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused care.
  • Promote patient independence, dignity and involvement in their care.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records.
  • Contribute to the safe management of challenging behaviour where appropriate.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Support the prevention and management of incidents in accordance with relevant policies.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and colleagues.
  • Comply with all relevant clinical policies, procedures and professional standards.
  • Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with the NMC Code.
Essential Requirements
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
  • Recent and relevant experience working within a mental health setting.
  • Experience caring for individuals with a range of mental health conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health assessment and risk management.
  • Ability to work effectively in challenging and sometimes high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and recovery-focused care.
  • Current mandatory training relevant to the role.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Satisfactory compliance and employment checks.
