Support Worker​/Personal Assistant near Duns – 3180

A lovely gentleman, living at home with his wife in Preston, is looking for a PA/PA’s to offer him some companionship on an ad-hoc basis. The role would involve spending time with the gentleman in his own home whilst his caring wife has a respite break. This may be for a block of a couple of hours at a time but there are no set days and times to be arranged with the client directly.

There is no personal care involved in this role.

• Hours per week: various – casual contract.
• Hours of work:
  Mostly weekends with the occasional Thursday
• £14.05 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

• To support a client within their own home and to help to ensure their safety and well-being
• To provide companionship to the client.
• To support with general care needs as required such as snacks, drink and meals.
• To maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings
• To develop a positive relationship with the client and his family.
• To interact with the client and keep them entertained with activities they enjoy, primarily in the home.

Experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes, but they should be able to show some suitability for the role.
