Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist Band 7 Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work within and be part of a growing psychology service, which is based at Royal Preston Hospital. As a Band 7 psychological practitioner within our Clinical Health Psychology Service, you will have a vital role in helping patients to recover after hospital admissions and adapt to life altering physical health conditions , injuries or changes .

You will offer specialist psychological assessments, formulations and evidence-based interventions to patients across the range of clinical pathways we deliver . You will also offer consultation to the MDTs y ou will be working with and staff training across the health community . There will be opportunity to develop understanding of the operational running of an outpatient psychology service as you rotate across each of the pathways of care we provide.

There will also be opportunity to shape the patient pathways and experiences of care by contribut ing to the running and development of the Clinical Health Psychology Service in consultation and collaboration with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Head of Service , clinical colleagues and key stakeholders in the Clinical Business Unit. duties of the job

The post holder will ideally have experience of working within a p hysical health setting and of working with individuals living with long term conditions, persistent pain or neurological conditions. They will also have experience of working within MDT settings and be motivated to learn and capable of build ing adaptive and collaborative new relationships with a range of other professionals .

There will be an expectation to undertake extended roles and responsibilities within the Clinical Health Psychology Service and to work flexibly across the services overall (including inpatient and outpatient work) as required and directed by the Consultant Psychologist and/or Head of Service.
