DescriptionSummary of role: As a chaperone you will be responsible for attending first dates, friendship matches or small group meet-ups, to support members of Meet N Match Friendship and Dating agency, who have learning disabilities or who are autistic. You will be responsible for initiating introductions, helping members to begin interacting with each other and then providing background support and encouragement during their meet up.
Main responsibilities:
- To contact members prior to a meet-up to confirm meet-up arrangements.
- To support members during meet-ups, to support introductions and provide practical and emotional support.
- To ensure the meet-up is a positive experience for members.
- To write a report on the meet-up and report back to the Membership Coordinators.
- To ensure members have a positive experience.
- To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of members.
- To empower members to build confidence and social skills by providing support whilst promoting independence wherever possible.
- To promote equality and promote people with learning disabilities and autism in a positive way.
General Duties:
- Work towards achieving service targets and outcomes.
- Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, including GDPR, Safeguarding and Health & Safety.
- Maintain personal and professional development through training and ongoing learning where required.
- Undertake additional duties or training as reasonably required.
