Service Manager – Learning Disabilities, Transitions & Provider Services Job Type: Part-time, Temporary Contract Salary: £35.78 per hour PAYE (Umbrella rate available)
Location:
WF10, Castleford, Wakefield Hybrid Working: 2 days per week in the office We are seeking a Service Manager to lead professional services in Learning Disabilities, Transitions, and Provider Services. This role is crucial in shaping and influencing Adult Social Care's operational response to national guidance and legislation. The ideal candidate will work part-time, including a half-day on Wednesday and full days on Thursday and Friday, with hybrid working arrangements.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
Act as the Lead Professional Officer on assessment and care management operational matters relating to community teams for people with Learning Disabilities and Transitions. Lead the operational response to national guidance and legislation, including responsibilities for Learning Disabilities, Transitions, and SEND. Ensure high-quality standards and performance in line with national, regional, corporate, and local priorities and targets. Respond effectively to CQC Quality Standards and requirements.
Provide access, information, and advice to individuals to make informed decisions about their care and support. Lead collaborative efforts across directorates and organisational boundaries to ensure effective and innovative services, including leading on Learning Disability and Autism Partnership Board and Transforming Care initiatives. Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of statutory requirements for adult health and social care services, including the Care Act. In-depth understanding of the challenges facing Local Government and the NHS, particularly in service delivery and continuous improvement. Excellent grasp of national policy developments and their impact at various levels to drive service improvement, including CQC requirements. Proven track record of consistent achievement as a manager within a large and complex environment.
Experience working effectively in a political environment and with external inspectorates such as the Audit Commission, Ofsted, CQC, etc. Ability to present reports to high-level multi-agency partnership boards. Benefits:
