Overview

Employment Specialist covering Garstang, Kirkham & Wesham. Salary: £32,061. Benefits include 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays and participation in the Local Government Pension Scheme. Full-time, permanent role.

Role

We are recruiting an IPS Employment Specialist to support individuals facing barriers into sustainable employment across Garstang, Kirkham & Wesham. This is a rewarding, person-centred role where you will manage a varied caseload, providing tailored one-to-one support to help individuals build confidence, develop skills, and secure meaningful work. You will take a proactive approach, working closely with local employers to identify opportunities and support customers throughout their journey into employment and beyond.

This role would suit someone with a background in recruitment or employability who has a genuine passion for making a positive difference.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of customers, conduct detailed assessments to identify strengths and barriers to employment
  • Create personalised action plans aligned to individual goals and career aspirations
  • Support customers with job search activities, CV writing, interview preparation and skills development
  • Build confidence and independence through regular engagement, coaching and goal setting
  • Engage with employers to identify suitable opportunities and promote candidates
  • Provide in-work support to ensure job retention and address any challenges within employment
Requirements
  • Experience as an employment advisor or as a commercial recruitment consultant
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate and influence
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload or pipeline and achieve outcomes or KPIs
  • Confidence engaging with employers and adopting a business development approach
  • Experience of providing advice, guidance or coaching to support individuals
  • A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting people into sustainable employment
  • Due to the nature of this role, you will hold a driving licence and have access to your own vehicle; you will also be required to complete an online DBS check if offered the position
