Competitive, DOE About the Role We are looking for a Site-Based Data Cabling Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day coordination and delivery of structured cabling projects directly at customer locations. This is a hands-on, presence-led role where youll act as the primary on-site leadmanaging engineers, ensuring work quality, and keeping projects running safely and efficiently. Youll be responsible for ensuring all installation activities meet project specifications, industry standards, deadlines, and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate all on-site activities for data cabling projects (Cat5e/6/6a, fibre, containment, cabinets, pathways). Provide daily direction to cabling engineers and subcontractors on site. Carry out on-site surveys, assess risks, and update RAMS accordingly. Monitor work quality, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements. Maintain project schedules on site and handle real-time issue resolution. Ensure strict health & safety compliance, toolbox talks, and site audits.

Liaise directly with the client on site, providing progress updates and managing expectations. Oversee material deliveries, stock levels, and site logistics. Ensure accurate documentation, test results, and handover packs are completed on site. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience delivering site-based structured cabling projects . Strong knowledge of cabling standards, installation methods, containment systems, and fibre/Cat6 testing. Confident leading engineering teams and managing site operations.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions. Strong communication and customer-handling skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and site plans. ECS/CSCS card (or ability to obtain). Full UK driving licence. Desirable Previous experience as a Site Manager or Cabling Supervisor. Manufacturer accreditations (e.g., Excel, Commscope, Panduit, Nexans). Project management certifications (Prince2, APM, or equivalent).

Experience working on enterprise, construction, or public-sector sites.
