Position: IT Administrator (Temp)

What You’ll Do

As our Group IT Administrator provide efficient and accurate administrative support for IT equipment procurement, allocation, and lifecycle management, ensuring seamless onboarding, offboarding, and operational continuity for all users.

In this role, you will:

  • Procure IT equipment in line with organisational standards and budgetary controls.
  • Process purchase orders (POs) and invoices for IT orders, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Manage leaver requests and coordinate the return of IT equipment, including agency leavers.
  • Maintain accurate stock control of IT equipment, updating inventory records as required.
  • Organise and prepare IT equipment for new starters, ensuring all items are ready for induction.
  • Deliver new starter inductions, including walkthroughs of IT equipment and basic troubleshooting.
  • Oversee the decommissioning checklist for IT equipment, ensuring secure data removal and asset tracking.
  • Coordinate and organise scrap runs for the removal and environmentally responsible disposal of old IT equipment.
  • Manage the allocation and tracking of phone SIMs and mobile handsets, maintaining up-to-date allocation sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, data protection, and information security requirements.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks required to support the IT function and adapt to changing business needs.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in IT administration or a similar support role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Working knowledge of IT procurement processes and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and IT asset management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to seek guidance when required.
  • Experience with onboarding/offboarding processes in an IT environment.
  • Familiarity with IT equipment lifecycle management and secure disposal practices.
  • Understanding of data protection and information security principles.
  • Experience supporting agency or contract staff processes.
  • Willingness to pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance.
