Reporting ToEngineering Supervisor / Team Leader
Role PurposeTo provide effective maintenance support across the site, ensuring machinery and production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role will focus primarily on mechanical maintenance with some electrical support, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a range of production machinery.
- Support breakdown response to minimise production downtime.
- Maintain and repair chains, belts, bearings, and drive systems.
- Maintain and repair pumps and valves.
- Maintain and repair bagging machinery.
- Maintain and repair conveyors and mixers.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out equipment inspections and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with fault finding and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- PLC fault finding experience would be advantageous.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to improve equipment reliability.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with in the food/FMCG sector preferred.
- Strong mechanical maintenance background.
- NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working with industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Desirable:
- PLC fault finding experience.
- Electrical maintenance knowledge.
- Experience working within a fast‑paced FMCG environment.
This is a growth‑driven vacancy within the engineering department. The successful candidate will join a team of five engineers and have opportunities for progression, with a potential pathway towards Supervisor / Team Leader responsibilities.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern42.5 hours per week.
Panama shift pattern.
- Salary: £20.60 per hour (£44,990 per annum).

Flat rate (where applicable). - Pension:

The ideal candidate will be a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer with strong FMCG/manufacturing experience. You will be hands‑on, proactive, and capable of maintaining and improving a wide range of production equipment while supporting the wider engineering team.
