Operations Manager
Overview
The Role:
supervise our Stevedoring operations during stowage and unloading of vessels, and general operations within the port warehousing. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to keep your team motivated, focused and performing to high standards. It is envisaged that the successful individuals will become part of our flexible workforce and learn all parts of the operations to enable them to work in other areas of the business where necessary.
- Supervise stevedoring operations during stowage and unloading of vessels and general port warehousing operations.
- Motivate, monitor and guide the team to maintain high standards of safety and performance.
- Learn and cover other parts of the operations as required to support the business.
- Experience of heavy lifting operations and working at height would be advantageous.
- The Port operates seven days per week including night shifts & Bank Holidays; flexibility to meet business needs is required.
- Full driving licence is essential as the Port operates across five sites.
- Starting salary £33k rising to £36k after training for 37.5 hours per week

It handles cargo across four terminals on the River Blyth and is a major east coast base supporting offshore energy and other sectors, including containers, dry bulks and marine fuels.
