Duties of a Bodyshop Manager:
  • Lead the daily operations of a high-volume accident repair workshop
  • Drive workshop productivity, efficiency, and quality standards
  • Support and manage the Workshop Controller and departmental supervisors
  • Oversee workflow to ensure smooth progression through all repair stages
  • Maintain high standards to reduce rework and claims
  • Conduct regular production meetings and resolve operational issues promptly
  • Motivate, develop, and manage the performance of workshop staff
  • Collaborate with departments including estimating, parts, and quality control
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs and fulfilment of customer commitments
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and ongoing enhancement
Requirements of a Bodyshop Manager:
  • Previous management experience within a busy bodyshop or accident repair environment
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to improve workshop efficiency and productivity
  • Good understanding of modern vehicle repair methods and processes
  • Ability to make confident decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • Passion for delivering high-quality repairs and outstanding customer service
  • ATA accreditation or experience in a manufacturer-approved repair centre is advantageous but not essential
