Job summary The
Practice Governance, Compliance and Workforce Manager will support the delivery
of safe, effective, high-quality patient services through the management of
governance, regulatory compliance, workforce administration, quality
improvement, and organisational development activities.

The post
holder will be responsible for coordinating the practice's Care Quality
Commission (CQC) compliance framework, policy and procedure management,
inspection readiness, staff training compliance, workforce support, and quality
assurance processes. They will provide administrative and operational support
to the Director of Business and Deputy Director of Business and play a key role
in supporting strategic priorities, innovation, and service improvement
initiatives.

Main duties of the job Develop, implement, review and maintain practice policies, procedures and standard operating procedures in line with NHS guidance, employment legislation, CQC requirements & best practice. Ensure the practice maintains ongoing compliance with CQC Standards and contractual obligations & ensures inspection readiness.

Support quality assurance programmes,& quality improvement initiatives.

Support the management of complaints, significant events, patient feedback & learning outcomes.

Coordinate and monitor risk assessments, business continuity plans & governance actions.

Provide HR & workforce admin support

Support recruitment processes & induction programmes for all new starters.

Monitor annual appraisals & mandatory training completion.

Support sickness absence monitoring, return-to-work processes and well-being initiatives.

Organise & support educational placements for medical students, GP registrars, nursing students & other healthcare professionals.

Monitor completion of mandatory & role-specific training requirements.

Support the delivery of internal training sessions & workforce development programmes.

Promote a culture of learning, continuous professional development & staff engagement.

Support delivery of strategic & operational priorities.

Support contract monitoring, performance reporting & service development activities.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, patient services & staff experience.

About us The Park Medical Practice, Preston, is a large, forward-thinking general practice providing primary care services to approximately 25,000 patients across three sites. The practice employs 86 staff and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting the development of the future healthcare workforce as an established GP training practice. Education, learning and continuous professional development are embedded throughout the organisation.

The multidisciplinary clinical team includes dedicated practice-based pharmacists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), salaried GPs and clinicians with specialist interests in diabetes management, women's health, care home medicine and minor surgery. The practice utilises EMIS clinical systems and Accurx digital communication platforms to support efficient, accessible and integrated patient care, ensuring high standards of service delivery across the local community
