Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Packaging First Line Manager (FLM) and work as part of a multi‑skilled, flexible team.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly tasks to help the Packaging Department meet KPI requirements for Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Service and Cost.
  • Consistently execute routine tasks within agreed timescales and with attention to detail.
  • Operate packaging equipment to deliver finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost to the logistics department.
  • Use VPO to undertake improvement activities to meet all KPI targets, such as Short Interval Control (SIC).
  • Carry out quality control checks to release products.
  • Comply with statutory, legal, safety, health and environment requirements, as well as packaging or food hygiene safety regulations (e.g., HACCP), product and process quality requirements, housekeeping, cleaning & 5S, and autonomous maintenance routine.
  • Attend meetings and briefings as necessary and perform any packaging‑related tasks directed by the FLM.
  • Maintain required documentation and transactions to operate and improve performance.
  • Ensure that all internal customer requirements are met.
Qualifications & Skills
  • General Certificate of Secondary Education ("GCSE") Maths and English, or equivalent.
  • Packaging or engineering based qualification is an advantage.
  • Packaging and/or engineering experience is an advantage.
  • Fork Lift Truck Licence where appropriate (Keg Palletiser).
  • IT literacy and effective team player with ability to coordinate and communicate within teams.
  • Experience in high‑efficiency FMCG packaging/engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within a quality‑focused food environment.
  • Training and documentation skills for new skills & tasks within the Packaging Department, in line with PDPs.

  • All operational training to perform the role will be provided.
  • Opportunity to up‑skill those with fewer skills.
