Abattoir Operative

We are currently recruiting for Abattoir Operatives - successful candidates will play a key part in the production process, rotating around several different tasks within the department. New starters will begin on grade 4 and have the opportunity to progress to grade 1 within the operative role, with a pay increase for each new grade obtained. We welcome applications from experienced abattoir operatives and knife holders, as well as candidates with chef/hospitality, labouring, and manufacturing experience.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

• To assist abattoir supervisors in ensuring smooth running of day-to-day operations
• Ensure each product specification is followed and any anomalies reported
• Work towards daily department targets
• Always maintain product safety and quality standards
• Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Maintain clean and tidy work area. Knife skills (highly desirable)
• Previous experience working in food production / manufacturing / butchery / chef
• Factory / warehouse / labouring experience also considered
• Willingness to learn all aspects of the role through training
• Strong work ethic, team player, attention to detail, physical stamina
• Recognise health and safety and animal welfare as a top priority
• Transport to get to site - HU12 8TB
  . Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:00 - with daily overtime required until production finished (around 6pm most days)
