Manufacturing Supervisor (CNC)
Location:
Chelmsford Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor (CNC) to oversee our clients CNC machining operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of CNC Operators, Setters, and Programmers, driving continuous improvement, maximising machine utilisation, and maintaining high levels of productivity, quality, and customer service.
Day-to-day of the role:
Supervise daily CNC machining activities across the manufacturing department. Ensure production schedules are achieved in line with customer delivery requirements. Monitor machine utilisation, labour efficiency, and production output. Coordinate workloads and resources to optimise productivity and performance. Ensure all jobs are completed in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Escalate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime. Lead, motivate, and support CNC Operators, Setters, and Programmers.
Conduct daily team briefings and communicate production priorities. Ensure products meet required quality standards and customer specifications. Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Monitor machine performance and liaise with maintenance teams to minimise downtime. Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor, particularly in a CNC environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a technical team. Knowledge of CNC machining processes, machine utilisation, and production management. Familiarity with quality standards and health & safety regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices.
