You’ll be producing compelling content for a wide range of audiences through several Council brands and across various print and digital channels. You'll write press releases, social media content, blogs, case studies and features, respond to media and public enquiries, attend events, create photos and videos, and support communications and marketing campaigns across the Council.

International Sponsorship - this role is not open to internal sponsor ships.

You’ll be a confident communicator with:
  • Experience of working in a communications or marketing environment
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Experience of delivering campaigns and creating engaging digital content
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience of using creative tools such as Canva and Cap Cut
  • A positive, collaborative approach and a commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous improvement
  • Experience of media relations, working with partners and stakeholders, or knowledge of local government and public services would be an advantage.
  • Applicants should have at least five GCSEs, including English and Maths.

If you're bursting with ideas, enjoy turning complex information into clear and engaging content, and want to help tell the story of Preston and its people, we'd love to hear from you.
