RN - Registered Nurse​/Part-Time, Day Shift

Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Part‑Time Day Shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) at Preston Veterans Home. 32+ hours per 2‑week pay period; may include additional work hours. Located in Preston, MN, no travel required.

• Provide assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident‑centered nursing care.
• Deliver care within the scope of practice defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and VA regulations.
• Maintain electronic charts using Point Click Care .
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and mentor other nursing staff.
• Support residents' physical and psychosocial needs and implement nursing care interventions.

• Licensed Minnesota Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, or ability to obtain by hire date.
• Effective communication skills to provide instructions and teach residents.
• Computer skills sufficient to complete charting in Point Click Care .

• Experience in skilled nursing, long‑term care, or senior healthcare environment.
• Experience working with Veterans population.
• Ability to evaluate nursing care provided by other staff and provide mentorship.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and decision‑making within scope.
• Interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships.
• Experience with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.

• Completion of DHS background check for selected candidates.
• Tuberculosis screening (Mantoux or chest x‑ray) prior to employment.
• Employment reference checks for finalists.
