Job Information
Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Part‑Time Day Shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) at Preston Veterans Home. 32+ hours per 2‑week pay period; may include additional work hours. Located in Preston, MN, no travel required.
- Provide assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident‑centered nursing care.
- Deliver care within the scope of practice defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and VA regulations.
- Maintain electronic charts using Point Click Care .
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and mentor other nursing staff.
- Support residents' physical and psychosocial needs and implement nursing care interventions.
- Licensed Minnesota Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, or ability to obtain by hire date.
- Effective communication skills to provide instructions and teach residents.
- Computer skills sufficient to complete charting in Point Click Care .
- Experience in skilled nursing, long‑term care, or senior healthcare environment.
- Experience working with Veterans population.
- Ability to evaluate nursing care provided by other staff and provide mentorship.
- Knowledge of nursing practices and decision‑making within scope.
- Interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships.
- Experience with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.
- Completion of DHS background check for selected candidates.
- Tuberculosis screening (Mantoux or chest x‑ray) prior to employment.
- Employment reference checks for finalists.
- Competitive hourly wage ($40.59 – $60.06).
