Senior Theatre Practitioner - Recovery - Bank

A one-year bank post in the Theatres team at KIMS Hospital, where the practitioner works across recovery and scrub. The work centres on safe, high-quality care for patients recovering from anaesthesia, with independent assessment of patient needs and close working with other departments. Shifts run on Mondays and Saturdays from 07:30 to 18:00, with the option to choose bank shifts around other commitments.

Applicants need to be a registered nurse or operating department practitioner with recovery or scrub experience from an acute hospital.

• Work primarily across recovery and scrub
• Assess patient care needs independently, act as a resource for other staff, implement care and evaluate outcomes
• Communicate with other departments such as Sterile Services, wards and Imaging to keep patient care running smoothly
• Protect patients' comfort, dignity and privacy at all times
• Keep your own practice and that of others within an ethical and legal framework

• Registered practitioner (RN or ODP)

• Post-registration clinical experience as a recovery and/or scrub theatre practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or independent)
• Knowledge of clinical governance and its application
• Practical experience of change management
• Evidence of continuous professional development and its application
