We are currently recruiting for a Food Service Assistant to join our team at Cardinal Newman College, Preston, PR5 0UL
on a temporary basis
. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to become part of a busy catering team, helping to provide excellent food and service to students, staff, and visitors.

What you'll be doing

• Serving food and beverages to customers in a professional and friendly manner
• Delivering excellent customer service at all times
• Assisting with food preparation and presentation
• Operating tills and handling customer transactions
• Replenishing food counters and service areas
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout catering and dining areas
• Following food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures
• Supporting the catering team with the smooth day-to-day operation of the service
• Assisting with the set-up and clear-down of service areas

About you

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, retail, or customer service is desirable
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliable, flexible, and professional approach to work
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check prior to commencing employment.
