At Sodexo Live!, we're passionate about creating unforgettable food experiences. We are looking for an exceptional Sous Chef to join our team at Deepdale Stadium, Preston, supporting the Executive Head Chef in delivering outstanding hospitality, matchday catering, conferences, banquets, VIP events and memorable guest experiences.

As Sous Chef, you'll play a pivotal role in leading kitchen operations and delivering exceptional culinary experiences across the stadium.

What You'll Do:

Support the Executive Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen operation.
Lead the preparation and delivery of food across matchdays, conferences, banqueting and special events.
Support the development of innovative menus and food concepts that reflect current consumer trends and business growth plans.
Assist with menu planning, costing and the presentation of new food offers.
Ensure all food production meets Sodexo's quality, food safety and operational standards.
Lead, motivate and develop a team of casual chefs and kitchen porters.
Support kitchen labour planning to ensure operational requirements are met.
Assist with stock ordering, stock control, stock takes and food cost management.
Ensure all kitchen areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health & safety compliance.
Complete and support all required kitchen administration, including hygiene and compliance documentation.
Work closely with internal teams to deliver exceptional client and guest experiences.
Deputise for the Executive Head Chef when required.

What You Bring:

Experience working within a high-volume catering environment, major events venue or large-scale banqueting operation.
A genuine passion for food, hospitality and emerging culinary trends.
Proven experience leading and motivating kitchen teams.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.
A proactive, hands-on approach and commitment to delivering high standards.

Desirable

IOSH Managing Safely or similar health and safety qualification.
Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef.

Experience with in retail food operations.
Production kitchen experience.
Experience working with clients within a contract catering environment.
Financial awareness, including food cost control and understanding of food P&L.
Experience training and developing kitchen teams.
