Lancashire Young Carers are seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and driven Project Worker 2 to cover MAT leave to join our amazing team in supporting Young Carers across the Lancashire footprint.

Barnardo's have held the contract for The Lancashire Young Carers Service since 2011 we are commissioned by Lancashire County Council in partnership with NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board , we were recently awarded the new contract from April 2022
Service Aim:
To support, empower and equip young carers by ensuring they are recognised as a young carer, supported to have a life outside caring, improve mental health and wellbeing and ensure children and young people are protected from harmful caring roles and are thriving
Objectives of Service:
To work with Young Carers across Lancashire To identify and assess all Young Carers in Lancashire To work with the whole family to reduce the impact of caring
To provide one to one and group work support based on identified needs
To reduce the impact of the Young Carer's caring role
To raise awareness of the role of Young Carers Multi agency working to support our young carers
Specific Responsibilities:
Manage own caseload
Raising awareness of the Young Carers Service at all levels
Deliver presentations and workshops to agencies and organisations across the county
To be a champion of and advocate for the voice of the young people, building child-centred and trauma informed practice into the heart of everything we do.
To model good care practice to the wider team.
Work in partnerships to deliver better outcomes for Young Carers Supporting Team members to raise awareness of the service
In the absence of the Team Manager to cover the requirements and needs of the service and communicate effectively both internally and externally to other agencies
To work alongside the health and safety leads in key areas and to feedback on assurance tasks that have been completed
