Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Dentist to join Prestwick Netherfield Dental Practice on a 12‑month maternity cover contract starting October 2026
, with the potential for a permanent opportunity afterwards.

This is a great opportunity to work in a modern, NHS and private practice with a strong patient base and supportive clinical team. The role is 30 hours per week
, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, in well‑equipped surgeries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical dental care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution of restorative, preventive, and therapeutic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant patient records.
  • Communicate treatment options clearly and empathetically to patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and support team.
  • Provide consistent, high‑quality care to a loyal patient base.
  • Adhere to infection control, safeguarding, and clinical governance standards.
  • Manage clinical diaries efficiently.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Engage in ongoing CPD and professional development.
  • Use modern dental systems and technology to support patient care.
Qualifications

Essential

  • BDS or equivalent dental qualification.
  • GDC registration with licence to practise in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Professional indemnity insurance.
  • Experience in general dentistry (NHS and/or private).
  • Strong clinical and communication skills.
  • Organised and patient‑focused approach.
  • Commitment to high standards of care and CPD.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Experience in advanced restorative or aesthetic dentistry.
  • Postgraduate training or additional qualifications.
  • Experience with digital dentistry systems.
  • Experience working in a team‑based practice environment.
  • Interest in clinical development or mentoring.
