Position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer - NPI (New Product Integration) (H/F AEROSYSTEMS LIMITED

Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide. The role is full‑time (37 hours per week, half day Friday), based on site (100%) and requires occasional travel. Security checks will include BPSS, Disclosure Scotland and a pre‑employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing). Salary is £42,683.

The Manufacturing Engineer will manage accurate Bills of Materials within the ERP system, ensure engineering processes are deployed and documented, manage formal engineering changes, and deploy the Continuous Improvement toolset for productivity and quality improvements. The role also includes translating design data (e.g. CAD/CATIA) into work instructions and supporting the team leader with people issues such as PDR, training/development and WTMS responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Translate design engineering data and specifications into concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or products to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain, develop and compile detail work packages and Conditions of Supply for external manufacture with suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement to achieve significant productivity and quality gains by analysing and eliminating waste (seven wastes); developing and implementing production smoothing methods, Kanban systems; reducing set‑up and overall cycle times; using problem‑solving tools; and working closely with design to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Liaise with operators, design and regulatory authorities to ensure product integrity and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering systems and ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement toolset (e.g., Seven Wastes).
  • Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within major customers such as Boeing and Airbus.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access).
