Halls of Scotland is expanding! To support the growth of our production facilities in Prestwick, we are searching for a decisive, people‑centric On‑Site HR Manager to oversee and elevate our HR function. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role tailored for an HR professional who thrives under the daily pressures of the FMCG sector. Managing a major 250+ employee operation, you will collaborate closely with site leadership and our Group HR Projects Manager to champion cultural shifts, support business growth, and execute key change initiatives.
While a background in food manufacturing is highly preferred, the vital ingredient is your proven experience navigating a fast-moving, high-headcount production environment.
Core Responsibilities & Strategic ProjectsIn this role, you won’t just manage daily processes; you will actively drive change during an exciting period of site expansion. Your focus will encompass:
- HRIS & Systems Optimisation:
Overseeing the management and optimisation of our Time & Attendance (T&A) software (Tensor and Mitrefinch) to guarantee flawless data integrity and smooth payroll processing. - Talent Development:
Launching, embedding, and tracking our newly established Personal Development Programme Clearview, part of One Advanced across the site. - L&D Expansion:
Partnering with Group leadership to design, scale, and roll out bespoke, site‑wide training initiatives to support our expanding production teams. - Complex Employee Relations:
Acting as the ultimate site authority on disciplinary actions, grievances, industrial relations, and employee welfare to foster a fair, transparent workplace. - Performance Metrics:
Championing the site-wide Performance and Development Review (PDR) cycle to boost retention, morale, and operational output. - Compliance & Auditing:
Auditing personnel records and alignment with H&S teams to safeguard compliance and ensure 100% accurate reporting. - Team Leadership:
You will directly manage, mentor, and inspire a small, dedicated site HR team.
- Credentials: CIPD Level 7 (Advanced Diploma) is highly preferred. Candidates actively working toward this qualification with extensive equivalent experience are welcome to apply.
- Industry Expertise: A minimum of 5 years in HR Management, specifically within high-intensity Manufacturing, FMCG, or Logistics environments (Food manufacturing experience is a distinct advantage).
- Industrial Relations:
Confident capability in navigating and working constructively with trade unions. - Technical Literacy:
Exceptional analytical and data-management skills. You must be deeply familiar with HRIS platforms and possess a sharp eye for detail regarding timekeeping data. - Leadership Style: A proactive, autonomous decision-maker who puts people first while effectively balancing the commercial demands of a growing production facility.
