Position Overview An established accounting and audit firm based in Moreleta is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audit Senior to join its professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing audit engagements, supervising junior staff, ensuring compliance with auditing standards, and delivering high-quality client service across a diverse client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage external audit engagements from planning to finalisation
- Prepare and review audit working papers and financial statements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, ISA, and relevant South African regulations
- Identify audit risks and recommend practical solutions
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of audit trainees and junior accountants
- Liaise directly with clients regarding audit queries and deadlines
- Prepare management reports and communicate findings to partners and clients
- Assist with tax compliance and accounting assignments where required
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent professional service
- Ensure assignments are completed within budget and deadlines
- BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
- Completed SAICA articles or currently eligible to register as AGA(SA) or CA(SA)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ audit experience within an accounting or audit firm
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, ISA, and Companies Act requirements
- Experience using audit software such as Case Ware, Draftworx, or similar
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Leadership and team management capability
- Professionalism and client-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
