Financial Accountant

Job Description

Redember is recruiting a Financial Accountant for their client in Pretoria who will be responsible for all the GL posting (bank transactions, journals etc.) in the accounting system on multiple companies, including month end recons, month end and year end close. Assist with year end audits, budgets, forecasts and any other finance related duties as required. Excluded are debtors processing, creditors processing and payments.

• BCom Accounting or equivalent
• Articles preferred
• Sage Intacct experience beneficial (or similar accounting system)
• Draftworx experience beneficial
• Strong excel ability
• Knowledge of E-Filling (VAT, PAYE) & CIPC returns preferred
• Tech savvy - automation
• Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
• Able to interact with all staff levels easily & different cultures
• Work in a small team with direct interaction with CEO & EXCO
• Reporting to Financial Manager

Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and financial reports. Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved. Prepare and post accurate journal entries into the general ledger. Perform general procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure accurate posting of journals, accruals, provisions, and reclasses. Processing weekly wages journals. Preparing CAPEX tracking schedules. Reconcile general ledg.

The Accountant will ensure that the efficiencies of the Financial and Operational Departments are unlocked through management of Tax, Compliance, Financial Statements, Bookkeeping Functions etc.
