Role Description The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day financial operations, including capturing transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable. Responsibilities include reconciling bank statements, preparing basic financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves working closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with internal controls and supporting audits with accurate documentation.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pretoria, requiring consistent collaboration with operations and office staff to ensure timely, accurate financial information.
Qualifications
- Foundational accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Sage, Xero), and the ability to learn new financial systems and tools.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills for handling financial records and documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with finance, operations, and office personnel.
- Relevant qualification such as a diploma or
B.com degree or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Ability to work on-site in Pretoria, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic tax concepts and general financial regulations is advantageous, particularly within logistics or fuel-related industries.
