Category Manager - Snacks

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Category Manager to oversee their diverse range of snack products within the FMCG sector , based in Pretoria . This role is crucial for driving growth and profitability by optimizing product assortments, managing supplier relationships, and developing effective category strategies. You will leverage market insights, sales data, and consumer trends to make informed decisions that enhance product offerings and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will play a key part in shaping the future of our client's snack portfolio, working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure market competitiveness and strategic alignment.

• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for snacks, aligned with overall FMCG business objectives.
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and assortment gaps.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure optimal product sourcing.
• Develop promotional plans and merchandising strategies to drive category sales and profitability.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure effective product positioning and campaign execution.
• Monitor category performance against key metrics and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in category management , merchandising, or brand management within the FMCG industry .
• Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Demonstrated experience in negotiation with suppliers and managing product portfolios.
• Excellent understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics within the snack category.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field;
  Master's degree is an advantage.
